The Holographic Universe

The All is One. The One is All.

Blah blah fuckin blah blah.

It don’t mean a thang if it ain’t got that swang.

So how do we make it swaaaang?

We put it in context, that’s how.

What the holographic universe says–in terms of what’s useful to you, right now–is this. YOU CONTAIN THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE IN EACH ONE OF YOUR CELLS.

Not only that, you actually contain every POSSIBLE universe in each one of your cells?

Umm…

Huh?

See, the way a hologram works is this. You take a piece of holographic film, shine a laser through it, and you get a hologram.

So now, let’s compare a holographic hand to a real hand. So on a table, we have a real-hand and a hologram-hand.

Now let’s get to choppin!

So first we take the holographic film and we cut off the 5 fingers.

Then we take the real hand and we cut off the 5 fingers.

What’s the difference?

Well, one hugely freakin’ surprising thing!

The real hand is obviously now a palm plus 5 severed fingers.

The hologram though, it tells a different story.

The hologram is now 6 holographic hands, each smaller in size than the original, but each as complete as the big guy.

WHAT THE???

See, holograms are weird. They don’t follow the rules that we are used to. They way they work is prone to making your brain hurt.

But you have to accept it, cuz well, that’s just how it works.

So. If the universe is a hologram, then what that means is no matter how much you slice it up, you just get smaller and smaller ENTIRE universes.

Meaning, I am the ENTIRE universe. YOU are the ENTIRE universe. My nipple is the ENTIRE UNIVERSE. Your butt is the ENTIRE universe. Obviously, we could play this game forever. But for the sake of brevity, let’s move on! :)

Now, another thing that this means, since I am the ENTIRE universe, is that time and space are literally figments of my imagination. I *CONTAIN* all of time and all of space. Meaning, what we are ACTUALLY doing is just continually re-experiencing *NOW* from a new perspective. Meaning, the point of life, how it works, is to move around and gather up new perspectives. Rings pretty true to life as it is actually lived, huh?

So. Blah fuckin blah right? No time, no space. Whatever. I got bills to pay, I got kids to feed, so I don’t really care about all this theory.

One, it’s not theory. So watch your mouth.

Two, this really changes everything.

It really does. Even the bills and the kids.

Because everything you want to have or be you actually already are. It’s just a different way of looking at where you are right now. So all you have to do to experience it is to move into that perspective.

And how do I do that?

Through beliefs.

Beliefs are the way that your perspective changes. Particularly beliefs about who you are.

So truly, when you change your belief, I mean REALLY change your belief, of who you are, your entire life changes, instantaneously. Not bad huh?

So anyway. Big deal, right? No matter how much I *want* to give up smoking, it’s not that easy. No matter how much I *want* better relationships, my spouse pisses me off.

Well, true. And that’s what we’re going through right now. We’re transitioning out of the third dimension, where there is a very “real” experience of time.

And this leads us, but of course, to the Mayan Calendar.

The fun has begun kiddos!

You’re gonna enjoy the ride!

5 Reasons to Discuss Your Spirituality on Your Blog

I’ve been realizing that the people behind most of the blogs that I read are in some way spiritual people. They have certain beliefs about the nature of life, the state of the world, the idea of creator, why things happen, what happens when we die, why life is the way it is. But rarely do they write about these beliefs on their blog. They should:

1) It Makes the World a Better Place

Spirituality, on a personal level, is generally about your feelings of love, connection, faith, trust, and protection. It is usually positive, optimistic, forgiving, and generous. Simply the discussion of positivity, hope, forgiveness and generosity makes the world a better place. Simply seeing those words make the world a better place. The more that we are out in the open about the HIGHEST common denominator rather than the lowest, the quicker our path to a happier, more evolved planet.

2) It Makes You Feel Free

Spirituality, again, on a personal level, is one of the things that people often discuss least. This is a deeply personal place, where all of your deepest beliefs, hopes and fears reside. Discussing such things is a wonderful way for you to feel free and alive.

3) It Fosters a Strong Connection

When expressed in a genuine, honest and open way, your spirituality is disarming and touches people in a very real way. It fosters a real connection between you and your readers. It really feels like someone speaking to you directly, which is especially powerful as that level of openness is not yet common.

4) It is Something that We Almost All Share

More than 80% of the world believe in something that they call God. It is interesting considering that such a common belief is rarely discussed in the media or in entertainment. So even though it may feel as though people won’t understand, it really is something that we almost all share.

5) It Fosters Understanding

In addition to being a very personal subject, spirituality is an EXTREMELEY individual subject. Meaning that people’s views, even among people of the same faith, vary widely.

It often feels like there is so little understanding between faiths. One reason for this is that very often, people of one faith have never really heard a person of another faith describe their personal beliefs and feelings about God. The similarities, yet again, on a personal level, so far outweigh and outnumber the differences that this done en masse on blogs would really serve as a way for all of us to understand each other.

Addendum: I wrote this post this way and titled this post this way because I thought it would be good for SEO. I just realized that I can’t think about SEO when producing creatively. For me, this article feels so stilted, like an essay for school or something. My voice doesn’t come through at all and it’s because for me, the “Top 5 Reasons….” format stifles the creativity.

Whether it reads like that to the audience or not is not so important to me. That was not that fun to write. It felt like an assignment.

And I heretoforth state that I would rather have a readership of 3 and write like me than have a readership of 3 million and write like a r-r-r-r-ro-b-bot. Luckily, they aren’t mutually exclusive anyway :)
So yah. This feels better. From now on, I write like me. If search engines happen to notice, so much the sweeter.

Peace out peoples.

The Hot New Summer 2007 Elastic Illusion T-Shirt Lineup

this is the first real design i’ve done since learning a few things about the powers of photoshop. this is the first time i’ve done a design as my daily creativity. it feels pretty good i have to say to have the option between filming, video making, song making, design making, web making, t shirt making, e-commerce making, blog entry making. it’s like, that’s a pretty dope feeling to know that your job is just to choose one of those from the list and just do whichever feels best that day. ahhhhh. gratitude.

this one is the back of the elastic illusion t-shirt. i was trying to figure out how to make crop circles and this was my way of playing around with illustrator. it was inspire by this crop circle. it’s a first draft but already there is major sacred geometry going on with triangle and circles and fractals and the numbers 3 and 13 and inscribing and circumscribing and fibonacci. i can already see it 3d like the little cd player decepticon in transformers. it’s totally alive. i feel it like whoa.

this one is the front of the t-shirt. just a basic opacity gradient. ice.

so anyhow. design is brand new to me and i’m damn excited about it. i’m especially excited for motion graphics, which is the first thing ive been super duper passionate about since popping. it promises to make even basic things look fricking awesome. after effects. yeehaw.

this is a design I did for the first DVD I ever made, our How To Do The Robot video. This was done in fireworks. Wow! Those were the days! hah!
