Pretty random occurrence to make me think such a thing, but check this out.
It’s a world map and a constantly updating Flickr/Twitter feed combined. One at a time, it shows you photos people are uploading to Flickr/Twitter as you watch. Talk about a slice of life, from literally all over the world. The twitter one is cool too because you see people writing in their own language, whether it’s Chinese, Dutch, English, or Portugese–yes, it’s only these 4 languages allowed. 
It’s not too far off when almost everything that can be has been virtualized and commoditized and given away for free. When there is no such thing as a consumer because every consumer is producing something.
Brave new world indeed. I’m glad to be alive.
